Casino News - New Casino at Kenosha?
Casino news – Kenosha, Wis – Reported by Associated Press - A local entrepreneur and an American Indian tribe stay behind their decision to develop a casino at a dog track, two years after presenting the idea to the public. The $808 million plan for the Selected Online Casinos has met opposition ever since it was revealed to the public two years ago on Jan. 6, 2004, together with opposition from a different tribe that runs a casino in Milwaukee. Motionless, the developer, Dennis Troha, said he works day and night on the casino project and he would not stop because of biased opposition.
The offer calls for more than 3,000 slotsand 70 or more blackjack tables, a 5,000 seat lecture theater, a 400 room hotel, trading and commercial space and restaurants at Dairyland Greyhound.
Dairyland Greyhound has made a purchase-offer to the tribe to set up a casino there even as it pursues a lawsuit inquiring the legality of land based casino gambling in the state of Wisconsin. The lawsuit is waiting in the state Supreme Court. A project timetable called for construction of temporary casino services at Dairyland to begin at the end of January.
